Cloud Link publishes versioned downloads on GitHub Releases. The website's
download links point at the latest release, so they do not need to change when a
new version ships.

## Current release

Use the
[latest release](https://github.com/alvarolorentedev/opencode-cloud-link-releases/releases/latest)
as the authoritative source for version numbers, release notes, and assets.

Each release can include:

- `opencode-cloudlink_darwin_universal.dmg`
- `opencode-cloudlink_windows_amd64.exe`
- `opencode-cloudlink_linux_amd64.tar.gz`
- `opencode-cloudlink_linux_arm64.tar.gz`
- a `.sha256` sidecar for each file

All four assets are attached to the same release when available. If a platform
asset is missing, check the release notes and the next release rather than using
an older mirror.

## Check your version

On Linux and headless installations:

```sh
opencode-cloudlink --version
```

On macOS and Windows, use the version shown in the app or compare the installed
package with the latest release.

## Update

Cloud Link does not install an automatic updater. Download the current release
and install it over the existing version.

### macOS

Open the new DMG and drag the app into Applications, replacing the previous
copy. Quit the connector first.

### Windows

Run the new installer. It installs for the current user and replaces the
existing application. Quit the tray app first.

### Linux

Stop the service, replace the archive or rerun the install script, then start
the service again.

```sh
systemctl --user stop opencode-cloudlink.service
# extract the new archive or rerun install.sh
systemctl --user start opencode-cloudlink.service
```

## What survives an update

A normal reinstall preserves:

- the installation identity and stable hostname;
- pairing state and credentials;
- connector settings;
- exposed service definitions.

Saved state lives outside the application bundle in the platform's
`opencode-cloudlink` directory. Removing that directory or the native
credentials explicitly is a reset, not part of an update.

## Compatibility

- Use a current OpenCode Mobile release from the App Store or Google Play for
  Cloud Link subscription and machine management.
- macOS requires 15 or newer.
- Windows supports x64; Windows ARM64 has no installer.
- Linux requires glibc 2.39 or newer on x64 or ARM64. `armv7` is unsupported.
- Windows installers are currently unsigned. Verify the SHA-256 sidecar before
  running one.
- Linux is distributed for headless use; no GUI, DEB, or RPM installer is
  shipped.

## Rolling back

If a new version does not work, reinstall the previous release from GitHub.
Pairing identity and settings normally survive a downgrade, but configuration
written by a newer version may not be understood by an older one. If the
connector cannot start after a rollback, preserve a copy of its state directory
before resetting anything and use [Troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting/).
